Combine with a museum visit
We’re happy to help you plan a guided tour or lecture as part of your programme. During your break, for example, you could visit the Utrecht Ship, Dick Bruna’s Studio, the classics by Gerrit Rietveld, or our temporary exhibitions.

Our museum café serves a varied vegetarian lunch, drinks and snacks, or an extensive dinner featuring seasonal local produce. The menu is tailored to our temporary exhibitions.
In collaboration with local Utrecht-based caterers, such as Foodfavors & Vineyard, we provide catering that perfectly suits your event.
The Centraal Museum holds the Green Key Gold quality mark for sustainable entrepreneurship. That’s why we consciously choose to offer a fully vegetarian selection.

The Garden Room falls outside the museum’s regular opening hours. For this space, different end times can be discussed. When you rent the downstairs Garden Room, you automatically rent the adjoining terrace and the museum garden, which you can use for the duration of your event.
The museum garden cannot be reserved separately. Amplified sound is not permitted in our garden, and smoking is prohibited throughout the entire garden.
The Auditorium can only be booked in combination with another space and during opening hours: Tuesday to Sunday from 11:00 to 17:00.
The Museum Café can be booked outside opening hours: Tuesday to Sunday before 10:30 and after 17:00, and all day on Monday.
Yes, all rooms are accessible for wheelchair users. You can find more information about accessibility on the pages of the individual spaces.

Yes, the museum is easily accessible by bus and train. Vaartsche Rijn station is about a 10-minute walk away.
At Nicolaaskerkhof, around the corner from the Garden Room, there is a bus stop. Bus line 2 stops at the ‘Centraal Museum’ stop. From there, guidance strips run along the pavement and there are several lowered curb sections leading towards the venue.
You can park in the nearby Vaartsche Rijn and Springweg parking garages. From both garages it’s about a 10-minute walk to the Centraal Museum. For the Vaartsche Rijn parking garage, we can provide exit tickets.
The entrance to the Garden Room is located at Nicolaasdwarsstraat 14.
At Nicolaaskerkhof, just around the corner from the Garden Room, there are two accessible parking spaces. You need a disability parking permit for these, which you can apply for through the municipality.
Both parking spaces are equipped with a presence sensor, so you can check via the On Wheels website or app whether a spot is available. The parking spaces are 140 meters from the Garden Room and are free of charge for people with a disability parking permit.
If there is no space available in the immediate vicinity, we can – if available – issue a maximum of three parking permits per day. These allow you to park freely in the area surrounding our location.
We also have one space available on the grounds next to the museum. Please let us know in advance if you’d like to use it, and we’ll make sure the gate is open.

You are very welcome to come and view our rooms and get acquainted. This is possible on weekdays between 9:00 a.m. and 5:15 p.m. You can make an appointment for this with the Events & Tours team.
