Museum Café Centraal
The museum café is the perfect place for a good cup of coffee, a tasty lunch, or a cozy drink.
The museum café is the perfect place for a coffee, lunch or drinks in an informal setting. At Museumcafé Centraal we work as much as possible with local suppliers such as De Clique, Rose & Vanilla and brewery De Leckere.
Collection in the Museum café
In the café you can already get acquainted with the museum’s collection. For instance, you’ll find chairs here by Gerrit Rietveld (the Centraal Museum holds the largest Rietveld collection in the world), as well as by contemporary designers such as Maarten Baas, Piet Hein Eek and Joep van Lieshout.

The museum café can only be booked outside opening hours: Tuesday through Sunday before 10:30 and after 17:00, and all day on Monday.
Accessibility
The Museum Café is located next to the museum on the ground floor and can be reached via the main entrance.
The toilets in our museum are gender-neutral. At the museum café there are two toilets and a changing table accessible via the stairs. Via the elevator next to the café you can reach an accessible toilet and four restrooms.
The café does not have a stimulus-free space.
- The museum café is wheelchair accessible and can be reached both from outside and through the museum. The exterior entrance doors are 160 cm wide with a 5 cm threshold.
- The café is located on the ground floor, has no thresholds, and can be reached via Collectie Centraal. From the other floors, the café is accessible by elevator.
- There is currently no hearing loop available in the museum café
- The museum does not have a permanent Dutch Sign Language interpreter. If desired, this can be arranged. Please notify us at least 30 days before the event via evenementen@centraalmuseum.nl and indicate which sign language you require.
Please note: due to a shortage of sign language interpreters, we cannot guarantee that an interpreter will be available.
- Assistance dogs are welcome, provided they wear a harness.
- If you would like assistance, our staff can read the menu aloud to you
- Our staff are happy to help pour drinks and can place them in the right spot.
