Hop aboard The New Media Express
Add a unique twist to your museum visit and hop aboard The New Media Express. This miniature train shuttles you between the final two museum galleries, passing various works of art along the way.
The New Media Express is an artwork by British artist Josephine Pryde. It was first exhibited in Bristol. Since then, the train has travelled to various art institutions, acquiring new layers of graffiti along the way.
With this work, Pryde responds ironically to a trend she observed in the art world: the tendency to guide visitors too much or even treat them a little like children. By presenting a miniature train as a work of art, she plays with that idea.
How it works
- You may sit on the departure times, but only under the supervision of a museum staff member.
- Maximum 4 people per ride
- Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult
- During the ride, please remain seated and keep your arms and legs inside the vehicle
- Rides are at your own risk
