A statue of St. Christopher wading through the Oudegracht. The Utrecht-based artist Toon van Ham, a member of Kunstliefde, designed this poster around 1943 as an advertisement for Centraal Museum, which had just purchased a statue of St. Christopher. During the war years, the museum faced strict censorship from the occupying forces, but continued to organise temporary exhibitions. This poster was part of a commission given to Utrecht artists to raise the profile of the museum’s location. [text 2026]
