‘Designing is a skill, a talent, a trade, and a craft. Sewing allows us to link back to and push forward the techniques of needle and thread across history and generations.’
Mohamed Benchellal created this unique dress specially for MOḌA. It is made from air mesh, a light woven fabric with a gauzy look. Folds and drapes create spatial forms: a visual harmony that celebrates the beauty of the wearer. For Benchellal, ‘designing is like breathing’. His creative spirit was nurtured at a young age in his grandparents’ textile studio. Since founding his fashion house BENCHELLAL in 2015, he has received several prestigious awards, including the Vogue Arabia Fashion Prize in 2020 and the Cultuurfonds Mode Stipendium in 2023. - Lange witte mantel met reverskraag en vastgezette omslag rondom de schouderpartij. De mantel sluit met drie metalen drukknopen en heeft twee gepaspeleerde klepzakken en een lange sleep aan de achterkant.
