Sharing her life on social media comes as second nature to Bobbi Essers. In collages of intimate snapshots, we follow her group of friends. ‘By painting, I spend much more time with the image, with my friends, with the unruliness of paint and canvas, which increases the intimacy for me and for the viewer.’ At the same time, Essers creates distance because the faces are missing.
