In the early 1980s, fashion designer Yohji Yamamoto brought the Japanese New Wave to Paris and New York. His early designs, reflecting the tradition of folding paper and fabrics, were an instant success. Layers, simple lines, chunky, unfinished fabrics - and lots of black, made them popular with designers and trendwatchers. Material-wise, this wooden skirt is atypical of Yamamoto, but it is typical in terms of design. With some imagination, you can recognise the planes of a kimono. [text 2024]

- Rok bestaande uit houtenpanelen die een gerende rok vormen, panelen zijn verbonden met scharnieren dit houten rokgedeelte is met bouten en moeren vastgezet aan een brede zwarte wollen tailleband die sluit met een deelbare rits. Er zitten vier gespen op bevestigd waarmee de maat kan worden aangepast.
