The Favela Chairis inspired by the Brazilian slums (favelas) where dwellings are often assembled using random waste materials. The designers used wood waste – initially found on the street – to construct a chair with only glue and nails. According to the designers, the only rationality involved is its absence. The chair was quickly taken into production, but each model is still handmade and therefore unique. [text 2023]
