‘The kaftans are fused landscapes of colour and materials.’

Yasmina Ajbilou has been translating her vision of sustainability, beauty and strength into fashion through her label House of Useless since 2018. In this contemporary kaftan, she has woven personal stories, reflecting on traditions and techniques she knows from her Moroccan background. ‘This kaftan depicts a girl balancing two snakes on her head. This represents the two cultures that I find myself between. I see it as a search for my cultural identity.’ [text 2024]
