Inspired by the dichotomies between people from rural and urban areas, having grown up herself in a small town, Ceciel Beltman is combining this concept in Miffy’s design. Noticeable differences in fashion, culture, mentality, anonymity and possibilities create a natural tension in design. Applying Dick Bruna’s original illustrations, she invites you to reminisce about the world Miffy feels most comfortable in.

Dick Bruna
Dick Bruna, de geestelijk vader van nijntje (Miffy), wordt geboren in Utrecht als oudste zoon van een uitgeversfamilie. Ondanks de verwachting dat hij zijn vader als directeur opvolgt, wordt hij kunstenaar. Hij schrijft en illustreert 124 prentenboeken, ontwerpt vele affiches en omslagen, o.a. voor de Zwarte Beertjes pocketreeks. Nationaal en internationaal maakt Dick Bruna zestig jaar furore met zijn werk. In 2011 stopt hij met werken. Hij wordt 89 jaar.
