Drawing is the basis of visual art for Michael Tedja. This work is part of a series of 134 drawings, all of the same format and made with the same materials. Tedja: ‘By forcing myself to draw, I wanted to maximise my imagination so my work has become freer. It shows where I am stronger than myself.’ The complete series was shown in Tedja’s solo exhibition Hypersubjective, here at Centraal Museum in 2018. [text 2026]
