Tetsumi Kudō’s absurdist works – For Nostalgic Purpose for your living room and Bottled Humanism – are reminiscent of surrealism, an art movement which flourished in Utrecht around 1920. Kudō's sculptures come from the collection of Wijnand and Annette Wildenberg. The couple collected international art in the 1980s. Their son gave the extensive collection on long-term loan to Centraal Museum, following in the footsteps of the Van Baren siblings. [text 2025]
