The 1920s were rightfully called the 'roaring twenties'. Following World War I and the Spanish flu pandemic, feelings of freedom and optimism prevailed in Europe. Fashion followed suit: simple, comfortable silhouettes without corsets, supple fabrics like jersey, bare arms and skirts shorter than ever before.
