Superflex is a Danish art collective established in 1993 by Jakob Fenger, Bjørnstjerne Christiansen and Rasmus Nielsen. The collective had Rietveld’s slat chair executed by craftsmen in Zanzibar, using tropical hardwood. The chair resembles the original chair, yet is also different, creating an odd sensation. With this chair, Superflex raises questions about what is original, a copy, and an interpretation. [text 2023]
