Carmen Freudenthal (1965) and Elle Verhagen (1962) are known for their intriguing fashion photography and its powerful visual concepts, in which they play with two and three dimensional effects. Freudenthal/Verhagen were commissioned to create a monumental photo for the museum's chapel in 2015. The model is wearing this creation by the young Dutch designer Jef Montes in the serene image of the holy Agnes. The white dress was created with a 'moulage' (drapery) technique and rotates around the body as if it had been whipped by the wind. The transparent, lustrous nylon combined with matt white cotton was made on a jacquard machine at the TextielLab in Tilburg. Montes' references to sail cloth and water reflections originate from his childhood memories on the Spanish coast. He translates these images into abstract pieces, skilfully finished off with silicone on both sides.
