In the early 2000s, Dinie Besems experimented with unusual methods of jewellery making. For this bold men’s necklace, she kneaded 100 rubies of various sizes into a ball of silver clay and pressed it into a thin slab. During firing, a hole spontaneously appeared in this silver ruby landscape, perfect for the chain. Besems pushes the boundaries of what jewellery looks like. [text 2025]
