The 2003 autumn collection by designers Viktor Horsting (1969) and Rolf Snoeren (1969), titled One Woman Show, was dedicated to the British actress Tilda Swinton (1960). The actress's unique performance and appearance has been an inspiration to the design couple for years. Swinton is not only a muse to the designers, the fashion duo see their relationship as a creative collaboration. In this context they asked her to write a poem, which resulted in a manifest for individuality. The actress opened the show, to the soundtrack of her own voice reading the poem. The models, who then one for one graced the catwalk, wore make-up that transformed them into copies of Swinton. The manifest for individuality, the clones and the presence of Swinton herself on the catwalk resulted in a surrealistic show. The starting point for One Woman Show was the typical wardrobe of the working woman, such as the blouse and jacket. Viktor & Rolf redefine the shapes and play with volume. They create a renewed silhouette by layering and repetition.
